On November 1, 2021, Tan Cang Hai Phong International Container Terminal (TC-HICT) of Saigon Newport Corporation welcomed the maiden vessel CAP JACKSON belonging to the new maritime service "TPX" of Maersk shipping line connecting directly from Hai Phong with West Coast, USA.

In the context that the Covid-19 epidemic is still happening complicatedly, seriously affecting the economic, political and social situation of many countries in the world in general and of Vietnam in particular, TC-HICT still welcomes the new service, thanks to the determined efforts of all officers, employees, employees of the Port and especially the trust and support of shipping lines and customers. Continuing to welcome new service lines of Maersk shipping line is really an important event for TC-HICT, demonstrating the development potential of the deep-water port in the North of our country.

Maersk shipping line is the world's largest container shipping company, with headquarters and branches in over 130 countries with an extensive network of shipping services connecting to major ports around the world.

The CAP JACKSON vessel with a tonnage of 52,160 DWT with a carrying capacity of 4,600 TEUs, LOA 264m operates on the TPX service. The route: Hai Phong - Yantian - Ningbo - Los Angeles - Hai Phong. TPX is a key service of Maersk shipping line in Hai Phong when the volume of import and export goods continues to increase strongly, especially goods exported to the United States. The deployment of a new service TPX directly to the US shortens the transit time and avoids the risk of delay in container transshipment at Chinese transshipment ports because of recent port congestion. This increasingly confirms the role of deep-water ports in the global logistics service chain - an inevitable trend in the process of international economic integration.

Overcoming the effects of the Covid-19 epidemic, in the near future TC-HICT will continue to make efforts to improve service quality to welcome more new service routes, affirms the position of No. 1 Deepwater Port in the North.
